Visitors with a licensed tour guide external to the Cathedral
IMPORTANT: FROM 1 JULY 2026
In order to preserve the spiritual character of the cathedral, to encourage quiet and respectful exploration, and to contribute to the preservation of the monument, all guided tours with an external tour guide are subject to prior booking and the use of audio guides (hired from the cathedral’s service provider), regardless of the size of the group. The dates when bookings open will be announced as soon as they are known in the News.
- Group of 2 to 25 people (guide and group leader included)
- The group is accompanied by a certified tour guide holding a professional license (all nationalities accepted). The cathedral does not provide the guide: the group must contact one.
- Headsets are mandatory (rented from the cathedral): these are a system of headsets with a microphone for the guide, allowing him/her to speak softly (not to be confused with an audio guide).
- Every travel agency or tourism professional undertakes to meet the quota of 30 bookings per quarter.
Appropriate attire required
Shoulders and midriff covered, thighs partially covered, no transparency, no hats for men.
Access may be denied in case of non-compliance with this rule.
Reservation required
No guided tours are allowed during services.
In case of non-compliance with our Terms of Use, all affected reservations will be cancelled without prior notice.
The visit is carried out exclusively using headsets rented from the provider approved by the cathedral:
- 2 to 5 people (including guide and accompanying adults): €25
- 6 to 10 people (including guide and accompanying adults): €30
- 11 to 15 people (including guide and accompanying adults): €35
- 16 to 20 people (including guide and accompanying adults): €40
- 21 to 25 people (including guide and accompanying adults): €45
Important: the number of people included in each package must be strictly respected. No additions will be possible once the reservation has been made (any additional person will not be equipped).
