Entry requirements for a guided tour
IMPORTANT: FROM 1 JULY 2026
In order to preserve the spiritual character of the cathedral, to encourage quiet and respectful exploration, and to contribute to the preservation of the monument, all guided tours with an external tour guide are subject to prior booking and the use of audio guides (hired from the cathedral’s service provider), regardless of the size of the group.
Appropriate dress required
- Shoulders and midriff must be covered, thighs partially covered, no transparent clothing, no hats for men.
- Access may be refused if these rules are not respected.
Priority to liturgical life
Booking is required for all guided tours, regardless of group size, subject to availability.
Volunteer guides from the CASA association offer free guided tours every day in several languages. The meeting point is on Rue du Cloître Notre-Dame, at the corner of Rue d’Arcole, at the foot of the North Tower (on the left side of the square). See CASA schedule.
