Can I visit the Towers of Notre Dame?
Yes. Reservations for the Towers of Notre Dame can only be made on the official website of the Towers of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. All practical information, prices and visiting times are available there.
Can I purchase a ticket externally?
Access to Notre Dame Cathedral is free and open to all. Your skip-the-line tickets are issued exclusively by the cathedral’s official website to guarantee you easy and stress-free entry. Some platforms, agencies, or guides reserve free tickets and then resell them at a high price: these tickets are worthless and do not grant you access. By going through the official website, you are guaranteed an authentic and free ticket, in keeping with the universal vocation of this place.
How can I see the Crown of Thorns?
Venerated every first Friday of the month at Notre-Dame between 3pm and 5pm, the Crown of Thorns is also displayed every Friday from 3pm to 6.30pm.
What are the opening hours of the Treasury?
- Weekdays: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (until 8:30 PM on Thursdays)
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

How can I book a visit to the cathedral?
Although access is free, booking a time slot is recommended to avoid queues during busy periods. Reservations can be made online via the cathedral’s official website or mobile app. Time slots are generally available the day before, two days before, or on the same day of your visit.
Can I attend services without a reservation?
Yes, everyone is welcome to attend Mass. No reservations are required for Mass times to ensure accessibility for all. A dedicated queue for those attending services is set up 20 minutes before each service.
Can I receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Notre-Dame?
Confessions are available:
- Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Confessions take place in the chapels of Prophet Elijah and Saint Joseph, located at the northern and southern aisles before the transept.
Whilst restoration work is being carried out on St Joseph’s Chapel, the confessional has been moved to Solomon’s Chapel, located next to Elijah’s Chapel.
What are the times for Masses and religious services?
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and an anticipated Mass at 6:00 PM

Does the cathedral offer the opportunity to discover its spiritual, historical and heritage riches?
From Pentecost onwards, Cathedral volunteers on a mission for the Church will be accompanying groups on a spiritual, heritage and artistic discovery tour.
In the meantime, volunteers from the CASA association, who have been helping visitors discover the building for 50 years, are continuing their mission of welcoming visitors to the area around the cathedral. A daily artistic and spiritual presentation in various languages is offered to individuals. The meeting point is the statue of the Virgin Mary on the forecourt.

Are guided tours or audioguides available?
Volunteers from CASA offer exterior tours of the cathedral.
A free mobile app (available in three languages) and audioguides are available.

How are visits to Notre-Dame organized?
On the occasion of its reopening, the visitor’s journey through the cathedral is redesigned to offer everyone, whether believers or not, a better understanding of the building and the Christian faith. Entry is through the central portal of the Last Judgment, and visitors follow a biblical, educational, and symbolic path that leads them towards life and light. A new arrangement of the chapels, new signage, and mediation tools, such as a mobile application, enhance the visitor experience.
Is there a charge for entry to Notre-Dame?
Access to the cathedral is free.
With almost 40,000 visitors expected every day, it is possible to visit Notre-Dame spontaneously, but long waiting times are to be expected, especially during the first few months following the reopening. To limit this waiting time, a system of free access during a specific time slot has been introduced, guaranteeing entry at the time chosen the day before or the same day on a dedicated platform.
