On the occasion of the Night of the Cathedrals, Notre-Dame de Paris opens its doors for an exceptional evening, inviting everyone to discover the cathedral in a new way, at dusk.
A living place of prayer, open to all, the cathedral reveals itself differently at twilight. Light, music, and quiet reflection invite visitors into an inner experience, accessible to everyone. In this atmosphere of silence, beauty, and light, visitors, worshippers, and the curious alike are invited to share in a unique encounter, at the crossroads of contemplation, prayer, and artistic expression.
PROGRAM : A spiritual and artistic journey at the heart of the cathedral : Throughout the evening, the cathedral offers a path in several stages:
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Exterior guided tours : Discover the cathedral in the evening light, contemplating its architecture and symbols with guides from the CASA association. Departures at regular intervals from the Charlemagne statue on the cathedral forecourt.
7:15 pm – 7:45 pm | Eucharistic Adoration : A time of silent prayer at the living heart of the sanctuary.
8:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Special vigil : The actress Brigitte Fossey will perform “Saint Augustin, Dialogue avec Dieu”, accompanied by Vincent Dubois, titular organist of the Grand Organ of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Adapted from the Confessions of Augustine of Hippo, this recital explores human interiority in the light of God’s presence. A meeting of word and music, open to all (believers and non-believers alike) where voice and organ enter into dialogue, giving resonance to a thought of striking relevance today.
9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. | Interior visit : Commented points throughout the cathedral, at the crossroads of art, faith, and contemplation.
