The Sunday 31 March 2013

Sunday 31 March 2013

On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene goes to the tomb.
The stone has been removed...
The strips were deposited...
The clothes are rolled apart.

(John, Chapter 20)

Through this passage from death to life, Christ saved the man from sin and called him to eternal life. The resurrection of Christ is the fulfillment of the promises made by God to his people. Just as Sunday is the summit of the week, so the solemnity of Easter is the summit of the liturgical year: the solemnity of the solemnities.
