For Nuit Blanche 2009, the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral welcomed "crystals" by Sylvie FLEURY, a work presented for the first time in Grenoble in 2001. Very widely reformulated for the majestic setting of the immense Gothic Cathedral, the work proposed a new route through this high place of Christendom. Arranged in the lateral chapels, these luminous crystals came to evoke in turn a path of the cross, the illumination of the faith or the colorful shimmering of stained glass...
20h30: Gregorian chant concert
The musical repertoire of Notre-Dame de Paris was formed very early in the history of music: this concert will testify, we shall be given to hear Gregorian pieces, monodies and polyphony created at the time when daring architects then built the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
These prayers have crossed the centuries and all their purity resounded again under the vaults of the Cathedral.
