This clock mechanism, over 2 meters tall and built in 1867 by the renowned clockmaker Collin, once displayed the time on four dials outside the frame. It is now lost.

Crucifix monumental

(19th century)

This large bronze cross was gifted by Emperor Napoleon III in the 19th century.

The Treasury

The Treasure Room or Great Sacristy is a majestic vaulted room, 12 meters high, illuminated by three large stained glass windows. It is adorned with statues of four angels bearing censers, as well as statues of Saints Peter and Paul. Learn more

Chapter House

(19th century)

The Chapter House, an area of the sacristy inaugurated in 1854, features 18 stalls surrounding the archbishop’s throne and the secretary’s desk. It is where the chapter meetings are held.

Relics and Reliquary of Saint Genevieve

Virgin, who died around the year 500, Saint Genevieve is the patron saint of Paris. These relics come from the former church of Saint Genevieve, now the Panthéon in Paris.

Crucifix and Candlesticks from Napoleon I’s Coronation

(18th century)

Napoleon I, Emperor of the French, died in 1821, crowned Emperor on December 2, 1804, at Notre-Dame de Paris. These items come from the cathedral of Arras.

Paschal Candle and Baptismal Font

The baptismal font designed by the artist Goudji is one of the most important creations of the 20th century. It was notably used by Pope John Paul II to celebrate baptisms during World Youth Day in Paris in August 1997.

Altar, Crucifix, and Chandeliers

These objects were created to mark the 800th anniversary of the cathedral. The arrangement of this chapel commemorates the centuries-old connection between Parisian goldsmiths and the cathedral.
