The multitude of believers only had one heart and one soul. (Acts 4:32)
The community’s prayer has special dignity; didn’t Christ himself say, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. “ […] We must uphold morning and evening services, which are the centre of any Services, as the common prayer of the entire Christian community. We should encourage their public or common celebration. […] That is why it is highly recommended to celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours, especially Lauds and Vespers […] with the full, active participation of the people, in particular in the cathedral church.
(Ceremonial of Bishops)
Every day, part of the Liturgy of the Hours is celebrated at the cathedral, including:
the Vespers service, every day at 5:45 pm (broadcast live on KTO-Catholic Television Monday to Friday);
the Lauds service, every Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
These services are conducted by the cathedral’s clergy or the Chapter canons and are sung by the assembly, accompanied by the choir organ and the choir school cantors.
