One day on the square

On the occasion of 850 years, it is a part of the square that will be invested to discover the western facade from an entirely new angle. A large structure will be deployed from the back of the square and will continue to incline to peak at five meters from the ground in front of the facade of the cathedral.

The visitor will engage in a belfry thirteen meters high in which is highlighted three stained-glass windows created in 1937 by Jacques Le Chevallier, and offered in 2011 to the cathedral by his family. This path will end in tiers down to the gates of the cathedral where can be contemplated shows on the facade.

The structure will host, among other solidarity actions in favor of the poorest and exhibitions to highlight the various trades that have done the beauty of the cathedral glassmakers, stonemasons, organ builders, etc..

The Way of 850 years will be from December 12 to November 24, 2013, an original and unique way to discover or rediscover the heart of the city, the most visited place in France with 20 million visitors per year.
